Consultancy – it’s a funny word isn’t it?
We prefer to think of this word as “specific outcome projects” which means that unlike other consultants, we won’t come back and ask you for more money, more time, more resource, we will simply get on and do the project in hand.
We work on lots of different projects and below are just some of them
Getting onto private sector tendering lists
We worked with a plastering company who wanted to be on the major house builders preferred supplier lists. We developed a plan and targeted the buyers of the house builders. We worked to develop a “buyer friendly” pack which was sent out and then followed up. This resulted in the company becoming a preferred supplier on 3 major house builders within 3 months of the project start date. To date they have been given the opportunity to quote for almost £176,000 of work.
Putting together a Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) programme
We worked with one of our clients to develop a cross functional scoring mechanism, which captured the main elements of the contract and meant that they could effectively score recruitment suppliers against stationery suppliers against catering suppliers against training suppliers.
this was no mean feat as all of the buyers had different ideas and suggestions of what they wanted, but we were able to accommodate their requirements and develop a robust scoring system which reduces the risk and highlights problems early
Breaking into public sector
We worked with a client who wanted to break into public sector but had no experience to demonstrate the company’s ability to be able to manage a public sector contract. So we set about working on a project plan, which included meet the buyer attendance, searching for correct tenders, contacting buyers, getting registered on portal plus many more activities which meant that the client has a multi layered approach, so that when they did submit a tender which Ocurem wrote for them, they were shortlisted. Upon being shortlisted Ocurem then talked to them and prepared them for the meeting which they had to present their company to the buyer. this was both nerve wracking for them, but also enlightening. They came away being part of a framework contract which has led to more than £45,000 of work in the first year.
